Running in place

It's like I run forward just to run back 

no one knows that I'm under attack

the war I fight is a war of attrition

but there's a Saviour out on a mission

to bring me home

to take my soul for the clutches of sin and death

lead me into the paths of sweet righteousness

there's a war goin on 

the devil's got his ammo goin

but then I look to the eastern sky

I see my Saviour at the right hand

of God on high

He says

I see you run forward just to run back

I know how badly you're under attack

now my child I'm come to bring you home

never more again to roam

so I drop down to my knees

I'm not running forward just to run back

my faith is a shield for when I'm under attack

so I cry out Lord my king

there's nothing in this sorry world for me

let me just have you

for your love is true

I will not fall away

just give me a new heart today

I want a new heart 

I want a new name

I want to know You

I want to be changed

more and more I want to see

Your character Jesus living in me

Saviour I know I'll never ever let you go

because You first loved me

So I'm running forward never to look back

no matter how badly I am under attack

now I'm reaching reaching for Your love my King

I'll worship You

Your praise I'll sing

You are worthy 

You are worthy my God

So I'm running forward never to look back 

 I thank You Jesus even if I'm under attack
