A Glimpse of Mercy

I long await the day

that glorious day on high

to rise with those who sleep no more

to join my God on high

I will hear His voice

fall at His feet

and He so sweetly sounds the joy

My grace is sufficient

I long await Your coming

I await to sing on high

the songs of exaltation

praises from those who shall not die

I have seen but a glimpse of mercy

the mercy of the King

that for a people in rebellion

He did bruise His head for me

for a people in rebellion

He did die upon a tree

oh to sing the song of Moses

the servant of my God

to join in exaltation

of the One who paid our cost

when I see Him I will shout His praise

give glory to my King

I will join in exaltation

in a song that angels cannot sing

I have seen but a glimpse of mercy

to this fallen race

mercy for the sinner

pardoned by God's grace

yes mercy for the sinner

justified by faith
