The Song for the Shepherd

Though you may have had ninety and nine

as You looked through the streams of time

You saw that one lost sheep

and You were not satisfied

You are the Good Shepherd

You lay

Your life down for the sheep

and in Your arms I'll stay

Your love doth not weary nor lul me to sleep

Though You may have had ninety and nine

as You looked down the streams of time

You saw that one lost sheep

and You were not satisfied

even as You looked upon

Your dear unworthy one

broken and running away

thinking pastures were greener if I got farther away

but those pastures could not seem

to grow anything but weeds

thorns and thistles were all I knew

Lord my Saviour I come to You

Though You may have had ninety and nine

as You looked down the streams of time

You saw that one lost sheep

and You were not satisfied

I want nothing more

than to be fully Yours

this is the cry of my heart

this is the song that I sing

Your praises my God I bring

there's nothing for me here

no this place is not my home

but Saviour Your will is clear

so I'm never more to roam

Though You may have had ninety and nine

as You looked down the streams of time

You saw that one lost sheep

and You were not satisfied
