Behold Behold

Behold Behold

oh beautiful Zion

your Lover, your King

the very Word of God made flesh

to dwell among us

this is the King of Angels

of Saints

the very King of kings

let us sing our songs of praise

let us raise our voice this day

born is the King of Angels and Saints

in a manger sleeps the Babe

the very Son of God doth lay

Behold Behold

beside the well

is a woman

doomed for fires of hell

yet she hears that tender voice

of the Baby now all grown

who once did make a barn His home

this child of the living God

so precious to a loving God

Jesus saith unto her

"Give Me to drink"

but twas her to drink from a well that day

the living water

springs of life

joy to this fallen race

Behold Behold

cometh a man

to feed us with the bread of life

to heal us from all sin and toil

He along a can break the yoke of sin

for He along is God's own kin

equal to the Father above

submitted for infinite love

to be born among the beast

and make His bead among their feed

now He lives without a home

a pilgrim with not a place of His own

He owns the cattle of thousand hills

yet chooses to go hungry if

He can give just one plate

to a hungered pilgrim mate

Behold Behold my dear Lord God

stripped naked by a wicked mob

beaten and nailed to a cross

weeping women stand afar off

and on that cross mocked and beaten

is where victory is achieved

"it is finished"

the conqueror shouts

and heavens sing and shout

what a sight to behold

the Saviour of the world

agonized by pain untold

blood and water gusheth fourth

my Saviour dieth of a broken heart

now the King of angels lay

again in another cave

Behold Behold

its been three days

how long must the Saviour lay

why search ye for the living among the dead

say the angels seated at the foot and head

folded garments tell us of

a risen Saviour

proclaim His love

don't believe the false report

the Saviour is risen

His love the shine

the human race reconciled with our God divine!

Behold Behold

our Great High Priest

with my tears I'd wash His feet

my prayers are heard by God on High

my Lord my Saviour

always nigh

Behold Behold

He's coming soon

go beyond the cross to the empty tomb

the fallen saints arise

and to the Holy God they cry

HALLELUJAH God on High!

He's tarried long

just that His church may learn the hymn

the new song of Moses

that is heaven's song to Him

and only we can sing that song

as angels fold their wings
